Band Review: Ominous Conception

If I had to wrap this band up in two words, it would be FUCKING BRUTAL. The band hit the set and completely destroyed it. The first band to perform hit the stage with such force, I heard the three kids behind me go "This is the heaviest stuff I have ever heard." They are insane. With a mixture of Death Metal and Grind, they have a energy that is hard to find in music these days. This band ain't for the weak of heart. The only thing I wish was that there was a pit and a longer set. These guys are a must see. With Quentin on vocals, Bobert and Zack on guitar, Adam on bass, and Greg on drums, they are sure to go places. Having opened for Suicide Silence and All Shall Perish, they are one of the prominent metal acts out of Springfield.  If you live in Missouri and don't like these guys on FACEBOOK then you can not say you love metal.

Hemophobia

Hemophobia: An abnormal and persistent fear of blood. Sufferers of this very common phobia dread the sight of their own blood, the sight of the blood of another person or an animal, and sometimes printed or filmed images of blood or even thoughts of blood. Blood may remind them of their own vulnerability to injury and of the eventuality of death.
Some sufferers of hemophobia experience a typical phobic reaction characterized by an increase in blood pressure and heart rate. Other sufferers experience an atypical phobic reaction characterized by a decrease in blood pressure and heart rate, causing paleness and weakness. They may even faint. Those with the latter reaction may develop a new fear: the fear of fainting.
Through the ages, writers have done little to calm the fear of blood. In Homer's Iliad, waterways run red with blood as a wrathful Achilles harvests his crop of Trojans. In Shakespeare's Macbeth, blood becomes a terrifying symbol of guilt to Lady Macbeth, and she washes her hands raw to rid them of blood, real or imagined. In Bram Stoker's Dracula blood becomes the nurture of a vampire.
"Hemophobia" is derived from the Greek "haima" (blood) and "phobos" (fear). Other English words derived from "haima" include "hemodialysis" (a procedure that removes impurities from the blood), "hemoglobin" (a blood component that transports oxygen from the lungs to other parts of the body) and "hemorrhage" (rapid blood loss). Alternate name for hemophobia: hematophobia.

Sick this is is that a lot of zombie fans have this fear. Wonder what will happen when the zombies come. By The Way, Check out the local music blog therevelationbands.blogspot.com

Cheap Ass Games: Resident Evil 4 (PS2 version)

This game is the best game ever to be made. It has everything a horror game needs, atmosphere, environment, sound, grotesque creatures, weapons, upgrades, a very strong story, intense boss battles, great characters, gore, and very good graphics for the time, even knocking some currents games out of the park. This game killed most of my time for the better part of a year, I never got enough of this game, especially when you replay it you can buy infinite ammo for guns plus some ultra powerful guns. But just because you have those guns, it does not mean you are safe. The enemies are terrifying at all times, even the simple townsfolk who turn out to be not so normal. They are the main enemies in the game that never end to be scary. There are other creatures in the game that can kill you easy. The guns are big, with upgrades and all. The game is long and will scare you from start to finish. The PS2 version is only $9.99 NEW. Pick it up and dust off that PS2 for one of the best games ever made. Out of one hundred it gets 100.

Cheap Ass Games: Dead Space

I went into this game expecting a game just like aliens, it even has the same set up in a lot of ways. But it blew the thought out of the water. The game has all the things I would expect in a horror game, its atmosphere, its enemies, it noise, and its controls. It plays a lot like Resident Evil 4, in the laser to aim with a gun thing. The enemies have the ability to kill you in some creative ways. The environment is what gets you. You see a shadow, was that a necromorph or just your imagination? Is that body really dead, or will it spring up and attack you? Its stuff like that that will get you scared. The sound is very good, especially in the dead of space. You hear necromorphs crawling in the walls, on the ceilings, and even right behind you, this adds to making it a tense ordeal. Out of all the horror games, this game has to be the second best. For $17.99 it is worth the price. Pick it up at your local Gamestop and have some fun. Out of a hundred, it gets a 90.
