Hemophobia

Hemophobia: An abnormal and persistent fear of blood. Sufferers of this very common phobia dread the sight of their own blood, the sight of the blood of another person or an animal, and sometimes printed or filmed images of blood or even thoughts of blood. Blood may remind them of their own vulnerability to injury and of the eventuality of death.
Some sufferers of hemophobia experience a typical phobic reaction characterized by an increase in blood pressure and heart rate. Other sufferers experience an atypical phobic reaction characterized by a decrease in blood pressure and heart rate, causing paleness and weakness. They may even faint. Those with the latter reaction may develop a new fear: the fear of fainting.
Through the ages, writers have done little to calm the fear of blood. In Homer's Iliad, waterways run red with blood as a wrathful Achilles harvests his crop of Trojans. In Shakespeare's Macbeth, blood becomes a terrifying symbol of guilt to Lady Macbeth, and she washes her hands raw to rid them of blood, real or imagined. In Bram Stoker's Dracula blood becomes the nurture of a vampire.
"Hemophobia" is derived from the Greek "haima" (blood) and "phobos" (fear). Other English words derived from "haima" include "hemodialysis" (a procedure that removes impurities from the blood), "hemoglobin" (a blood component that transports oxygen from the lungs to other parts of the body) and "hemorrhage" (rapid blood loss). Alternate name for hemophobia: hematophobia.

Sick this is is that a lot of zombie fans have this fear. Wonder what will happen when the zombies come. By The Way, Check out the local music blog therevelationbands.blogspot.com

Cheap Ass Games: Resident Evil 4 (PS2 version)

This game is the best game ever to be made. It has everything a horror game needs, atmosphere, environment, sound, grotesque creatures, weapons, upgrades, a very strong story, intense boss battles, great characters, gore, and very good graphics for the time, even knocking some currents games out of the park. This game killed most of my time for the better part of a year, I never got enough of this game, especially when you replay it you can buy infinite ammo for guns plus some ultra powerful guns. But just because you have those guns, it does not mean you are safe. The enemies are terrifying at all times, even the simple townsfolk who turn out to be not so normal. They are the main enemies in the game that never end to be scary. There are other creatures in the game that can kill you easy. The guns are big, with upgrades and all. The game is long and will scare you from start to finish. The PS2 version is only $9.99 NEW. Pick it up and dust off that PS2 for one of the best games ever made. Out of one hundred it gets 100.

Cheap Ass Games: Dead Space

I went into this game expecting a game just like aliens, it even has the same set up in a lot of ways. But it blew the thought out of the water. The game has all the things I would expect in a horror game, its atmosphere, its enemies, it noise, and its controls. It plays a lot like Resident Evil 4, in the laser to aim with a gun thing. The enemies have the ability to kill you in some creative ways. The environment is what gets you. You see a shadow, was that a necromorph or just your imagination? Is that body really dead, or will it spring up and attack you? Its stuff like that that will get you scared. The sound is very good, especially in the dead of space. You hear necromorphs crawling in the walls, on the ceilings, and even right behind you, this adds to making it a tense ordeal. Out of all the horror games, this game has to be the second best. For $17.99 it is worth the price. Pick it up at your local Gamestop and have some fun. Out of a hundred, it gets a 90.

Cheap Ass Games: Condemned 2: Bloodshot

This game can be wrapped up pretty well as one of the most psychological thrillers of all times. No other game can match this games level of pure terror. The game builds off of the first with the controls being nearly the same. This time around there are four major changes. One of them is there is now a combo system with melee combat, that can be used to unleash vicious finishing moves. The second is a plus and minus at times, guns have more of a use in this game. This leads to some of the scenarios being not as scary as they could be cause you have a assault shotgun with you. The third thing is there is a upgrade system. If you pass a level you get a rating, if it is really good, you get the best upgrade, like a five shot stun gun or a knife for your left hand. The final difference is that forensics don't play as big of a role in the missions, which is kinda disappointing, because I loved the forensics in the first game, it was such an innovation to the horror genre. The games story is a bit hit and miss, like the first level being just a dream, not actually real. There are moments that terrified me to no end. Like being chased by a giant bear, or in the second level, being attacked by a meth addict. The final mission is a pure disappointment and the ending screams the fact there will be a third game in the series. But all in all, if you want a really suspenseful game that will scare you more then most games out there, pick up Condemned 2: Bloodshot for only $12.99 at Gamestop, it is worth the price. Out of a hundred it is a 85.

Cheap Ass Games: Condemned Criminal Origins

From time to time, I will put a review of a game, book, or movie that I find interesting on here. When it comes to games, I will review used games that are under $20 that you can get at Gamestop. For this one, I am doing the scariest game I have played in my life, Condemned: Criminal Origins for the XBOX 360. This game is pure terror. You play as agent Ethan Thomas, SCU investigator and the main character. This game is a psychological survival horror game that tasks you at clearing your name after a serial killer, named Killer X, kills two cops with your gun. You are tasked with tracking him down as he goes after the serial killers you were tracking pre-game. The game focuses one three massive points, first person game play, visceral melee combat, and forensic investigation. The combat and forensic are both used to a very good extent. The combat is your standard swing block format using the triggers. The strange thing about this game is it has shooter elements in it, but you can not carry extra ammo. You only have what is in your clip. The game has no HUD, you have to press a button to check ammo and health. The forensics are the puzzle element, used to track a bleeding victim or to look for evidence. In the dark, this is highly terrifying when you don't know where the people will come from. This plays into the sound which can cause high amounts of paranoia. I myself wish that I knew how the game ended, it was so terrifying I couldn't finish it. From the voice whispering my name, which is also the main characters name killed any chance of me finishing it. For being only $4.99 at Gamestop, this game is worth a buy. Out of a hundred, I would give it a 90.

BAND REVIEW: As Shadows Collapse

This band has been a favorite of mine for a year now, and I finally had a chance to see them live with the new singer. Let me put it this way, out of all the bands that performed last night, they had the best sound. This done by the musical skills of Matt Sherman, drummer, Joe and Dusty Sherman, guitarists, Brandon Fletcher, bass player, and Travis Box on vocals. These guys are a must see for their live set and the pure energy they have. In all the concerts I have seen, I have never seen this level of crowd interaction. Off the stage, these guys are the nicest guys I have ever met in a long time. All of the members are super friendly and it was my pleasure to meet some of them. Give them a look on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/pages/As-Shadows-Collapse/170373817074, on myspace at http://www.myspace.com/asshadowscollapse, reverbnation at http://www.reverbnation.com/asshadowscollapse, and on youtube with their new music video for pray for flames at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hESpQVgbNHw. Check these guys out and show them the support they deserve.

GAME REVIEW GAME REVIEW: Plants Vs. Zombie for the XBOX 360

I never thought I would say this about a E rated game, but this game is one of the most fun games I have ever played. I mean that to. The game is pure 100% fun. It plays like the computer version, which if you havn't played, means that it is basically a defense game were you plant plants like the pee shooter that will attack zombies. No blood or anything, this is the perfect game for kids and adults alike. There is so much to it you will be up hours playing it. We give it a 100/100 a perfect score.

Lamb of God Another Nail for Your Coffin Lyrics

At a loss for something different to say,
I've said everything, we've said it all before.
An extra nail for your coffin.
I'm going to ride that horse we've beaten to death,
And deliver its stinking carcass to your doorstep.
A gift from all the dead children,
That are the progeny of your ballistic union.
Borrowing from Peter to rape Paul,
No news is good news, but I've got some news for you.
Fetch me a rope, lynch mob of one.
An extra nail for your coffin.
Certain blood has been shed for uncertain reasons.
You will never quiet this storm,
A cold wind to chill your bones.
I bring the hammer down.
Borrowing from Peter to rape Paul,
No news is good news, but I've got some news for you.
Fetch me a rope, lynch mob of one.

Prototype Game Review

Everyone who knows me knows I love gore, so when I was looking through used games the other day, I found a gem of a game called Prototype. The box cover is what sold it for me. The back showed the world in chaos, with mutations, and a lead character that uses his mutation to make weapons like swords and claws. After playing through the game, I was left feeling a little empty. The game was good, that is the best I can say about it. It has eight main powers, the blade which acts as a sword, the most balanced power in the game. The next is the claws, which focus on speed and have the cool ability to when holding the Y button on the xbox 360 to cause spikes to come out of the ground, killing most enemies if packed together. The next is the whipfist, which I used to most, mostly to jack helicopters when you gain the ability to fly and upgrade this power. Then there is the devastators, which cause a large amount of damage to large groups of enemies. The armor is just as it sounds, your body gets covered in a awesome looking suit that makes you take less damage, a must in later missions. Musclemass is the most useless power to me, all that I used it for is after I got the long throw, I used it to toss cars at far off enemies. Hammerfist, like the muscle mass, has limited usage, especially for me. I only used it at first to destroy tanks, then when I got upgrades for the other powers, I stopped using it. The final power is the main thing in the game, called consume, which does what it says. When you grab a person, you have the option to consume them, and can take their form. Which lets you lose attention from the military and get into the military bases if you absorb the right people. Also, the most important thing about it is, it is what you HAVE to do to get health, you don't really regain any throughout the game. The game is fun in it own right, but for the 17$ used price at Gamestop, I would recommend better games. This game gets a 75/100

Swine Flu Quickly Turns Into Zombie Swine Flu, H1N1 Is Now H1Z1

Everybody is taking serious the swine flu after the World Health Organization raised the alert level to 5, and after the first death was reported in the US. In Mexico there have been 176 reported victims of the H1N1 strain and several other hundreds have been reported as infected. Also, the President of Mexico, Felipe Calderon has told Mexican people to stay at home for at least five days until things cool down because there is no place safer than home. He said that a simple walk on the streets can get you infected therefore people should remain at home.
Zombie Swine Flu H1Z1 Virus
Zombies are very popular among Internet users, and some of them ( theInternet users, not the zombies) found time to laugh and they wrote a satire inspired by the first case of swine flu reported in London. A few days ago a student from Mexico said that the feels like in a zombie movie as you never know who could carry the H1N1 virus. Well, these guys decided to write a satire which says that there is a zombism outbreak in London as the H1N1 influenza mutated into the H1Z1 influenza.
It is said that the swine flue zombie strain can resurrect a human after his death. After what happened in London with the zombism, WHO has raised the alert level to 6, and now it is clear that a pandemic is imminent. WHO officials reported that after two hours after the initial death of a zombie swine flu victim, the H1Z1 virus can restart the heart of a person who will quickly behave in “extremely violent ways” due to a mixture of brain damage and an unknown chemical released into the victim’s blood during his resurgence.
The satire-report says that there have been multiple cases of the zombie swine flu including one in the Netherlands where a 3-year-old child died and then returned to life in order to lunge at his mother.

Band Review: FIERA

This band has to be one of my favorite bands of all times. I have missed every time they performed till a few weeks ago. They are insane to say the least. Their sound from there first C.D. to their current sound is just that much heavier. They have a insane live set, which unfortunately was cut short due to the other bands going over. They are a must see.Their official biography taken from their facebook page is. Formed in mid 2007 as a four piece metalcore group, writing music and playing shows. In 2010, officially adding a 5th member to the roster on guitars, now completing the second album in the studio and a third album almost completely written, this is just the beginning.  They are a must see band, and if you have never seen them live, you are missing out on one of the best bands out of Springfield, Missouri http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OolEuy1HBXk&feature=related for a preview of this band.

Book Review: Zombie Apocalypse by Stephen Jones

For the first book review, I decided to do one of my favorite zombie book, called simply zombie apocalypse. The book is told through a series of interconnected eyewitness narratives- text messages, e-mails, blogs. letters, diaries, and transcripts. This is truly and epic story of the world being plunged into a zombie apocalypse. This book is the first time I have ever been scared by a book outside of Stephen King. It feels so real, and is truly a must read for anyone who loves the zombie horror genre. The book takes place in Britain during a New Festival of Britain. But during the construction work on the site of a old church in south London, unleashing a plague that turns its victims into flesh-hungry ghouls. This story sounds like the standard zombie story, but this story has more twists and turns than a maze. This book will keep you hooked till the end, with a ending you will not expect. Pick this book up at Barns and Noble for just $13.95. It is well worth the price to buy a perfect book like this.

A preview of my book

I remember the sky was red that day. The air stunk of burning flesh, melting plastic, and decomposing flesh. I was on foot that day, trying to find the rest of my platoon. We got separated in the drop and I ended up somewhere near a mall. I got on the radio and heard that the rally point was somewhere near the school.
I shouldered my old hunting carbine as I looked around the area. There was no movement, but in the week since the outbreak, you could never be to careful. Especially cause I wasn’t military, neither was the rest of my platoon. The real military was fighting for the big cities like New York, not a little shit town on a island off the coast.
I suddenly saw movement and ducked behind a car. A lone mutator was moving slowly down the street. It was the biggest one I have seen yet. Seven feet tall, like a human with a turtle shell made of these huge boils, then when popped, cause acid to come running out.
It stopped near my car and I prayed it wouldn’t come over. It grunted a few times and started to come my way. I clicked my safety off and moved to were I could get a few shots off before it charged. I aimed and it locked eyes with me. It roared and I fired two times in quick succession, hitting two of the packs on it’s shoulders. It screamed and ran slightly to my left. It hit the wall and fell backwards.
I fired three more round into its head and took off running, trying to lose it. I ran into the alley as I heard it start to run. It went right past my alley, and I took off to get further away. Finally, I thought, I lost it. I climbed up a fire escape and hid up there, hoping to catch the thing off guard, hoping to kill it.
It never came back. I walked into the appartment near the fire escape and I got my bearings in there. I listened for any signs of the undead I could hear. I didn’t hear anything so I walked into the hallway. There were three zombies in there, and i quickly picked them off before they heard me.
I walked into a room marked with a pentagram. Inside was a full on demonic lab, marking it as a sons of the spore lab. I felt a needle stab into my back and I fell to the ground and lost contiousness.
